APC Ogun Unveils Timetable for 2027 Primaries, Fixes Governorship Election for May 21
The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has officially released the timetable for its primary election activities ahead of the 2027 General Elections, setting the stage for political consultations and contests within the ruling party.
In an official notice issued on Wednesday by the Ogun State chapter of the party, the APC announced dates for the conduct of primaries for various elective offices, including the House of Representatives, Senate, State House of Assembly, Governorship and Presidential positions.
According to the schedule signed by the State Organizing Secretary, Yemi Adelani, the House of Representatives primary election will hold on Friday, May 15, 2026, while the Senatorial primary is slated for Monday, May 18, 2026.
The party also fixed Wednesday, May 20, 2026, for the House of Assembly primary election, while the governorship primary election is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026.
The presidential primary election of the party is expected to take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The APC called on all aspirants, party officials and stakeholders to strictly comply with the approved timetable and uphold the party’s constitution, guidelines and directives throughout the exercise.
The party further reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent, peaceful, credible and democratic primary election process ahead of the 2027 polls.
Political observers believe the release of the timetable signals the formal commencement of intense political activities within the party as aspirants across the state begin consultations and mobilization ahead of the primaries.
The development is expected to heighten political alignments and strategic negotiations among party leaders and contenders seeking various elective positions under the platform of the APC in Ogun State and across the country.
