Doguwa Urges Muslims to Embrace Unity, Pray for End to Insecurity at Eid Maulud
The Leader of the Northern Regional Caucus in the House of Representatives, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has urged Muslims across Kano State, Northern Nigeria and the country to use the occasion of Eid Maulud 1448 AH to strengthen unity, promote peace and reflect on the exemplary teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Doguwa, in a goodwill message marking the 2026 Eid Maulud celebration, said the occasion offers Muslims an opportunity to reflect on the Prophet’s enduring virtues of peace, compassion, justice, tolerance, sacrifice and brotherhood.
He called on the Muslim Ummah to translate these values into actions by strengthening bonds of solidarity, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, particularly at a time when Nigerians are confronted with economic difficulties, insecurity and other social challenges.
According to him, divisions and differences capable of weakening communities must be avoided, stressing that unity remains essential to achieving peace, stability and sustainable development.
The federal lawmaker therefore appealed to Muslims and other Nigerians to support one another and work collectively towards building safer, stronger and more prosperous communities.
Doguwa also used the occasion to offer special prayers for an improved security situation across Northern Nigeria, calling on Almighty Allah to protect communities from banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and other forms of criminality.
He prayed for divine protection and guidance for members of the security agencies, while urging them to remain courageous and committed to their responsibility of protecting lives and property.
The lawmaker further appealed to citizens to support legitimate efforts aimed at restoring peace and security across the North.
He encouraged members of the public to provide security agencies with useful and credible information that could assist in preventing criminal activities and protecting communities.
Doguwa said the restoration of lasting peace in Northern Nigeria requires collective responsibility, urging citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities while promoting peaceful coexistence.
He expressed optimism that the blessings of Eid Maulud would bring peace, prosperity, good health and greater unity to the Muslim Ummah and the country at large.
“May Almighty Allah accept our prayers and acts of worship, guide our leaders at all levels, and bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria with enduring peace, stability and progress,” he prayed.
Doguwa extended his warmest greetings and best wishes to Muslims in Kano State, Northern Nigeria and across the country, wishing them a peaceful and blessed Eid Maulud 1448 AH celebration.
