JIBWIS Endorses Tinubu-Shettima for 2027 as Gov. Yusuf, Buni, Barau Eulogise Sheikh Jingir
The Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’a Wa Iqamatussunnah (JIBWIS) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for the 2027 presidential election, urging its members nationwide to support their re-election.
The endorsement was announced at a one-day National Symposium on “Enhanced Political Participation and Support for Social Justice as a Panacea for Unity and Development in Nigeria,” held at the Saddiqa Event Centre in Jos, Plateau State.
The event also provided an opportunity for Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and his counterparts from Yobe, Sokoto and Jigawa States to commend the National Chairman of the JIBWIS Council of Ulama, Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir, for his sustained efforts to promote unity, peaceful coexistence and understanding among Nigerians.
The governors conveyed their commendation through Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, who spoke on their behalf at the symposium.
In a major political development at the gathering, the National Chairman-Administration of JIBWIS, Sheikh
Abdulnasir Abdulmuhuyi, expressed confidence in the Tinubu-Shettima administration, saying the Federal Government had demonstrated commitment to Nigeria’s development during its first three years in office.
He said the administration deserved the support of Nigerians for a second term to enable it consolidate its achievements and sustain its development agenda.
Also speaking at the symposium, Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir called on members of JIBWIS across the country to renew their support for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The cleric said political participation should be guided by considerations of national unity, social justice, peaceful coexistence and the overall development of the country.
Governor Buni, while reflecting on Nigeria’s political history, recalled the 1993 presidential election in which Chief MKO Abiola contested with Ambassador Babagana Kingibe as his running mate.
He commended Sheikh Jingir for his consistency and commitment to promoting national unity through his preaching, describing his efforts as significant to fostering peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
In a goodwill message, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, said Nigerians could not afford to lose the Tinubu-Shettima administration in 2027.
Senator Barau also praised Sheikh Jingir for his sustained efforts to promote unity, peaceful coexistence and understanding across the country.
The symposium further witnessed significant financial support for the establishment of Fortune University, founded by Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir.
Hon. Ibrahim Kabir Masari and Governor Mai Mala Buni each donated ₦300 million, bringing their combined contributions to ₦600 million towards the university project.
The symposium attracted prominent Islamic scholars, political leaders, government officials and JIBWIS members from across Nigeria, who deliberated on political participation, social justice, national unity and sustainable development.
The gathering underscored the role of religious and community leaders in promoting peaceful political engagement, strengthening national cohesion and advancing development in Nigeria.
