Kano Amirul Hajj Calls for Patience as Pilgrims Await Return Flights

The Kano State Amirul Hajj and Emir of Gaya, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, has called on pilgrims from the state to continue exercising patience as they await their return flights to Nigeria following the successful completion of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
The Amirul Hajj made the appeal during visits to hotels accommodating Kano pilgrims in Makkah, where he interacted directly with them to assess their welfare and listen to any concerns requiring attention.
During the visits to Houses No. 4 and 5, Dr. Abdulkadir emphasized that although the major Hajj rites had been successfully concluded, pilgrims should continue to demonstrate patience and discipline while remaining in the Holy Land until their departure schedules are finalized.
“We are here to interact with you. I know one of the challenges previously raised was transportation to the mosque, but that issue has now been resolved, as vehicles are available at each accommodation facility,” the Amirul Hajj stated.
He disclosed that the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board was in constant communication with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to facilitate the smooth and timely airlift of pilgrims back home and avoid unnecessary delays.
The Amirul Hajj also urged pilgrims to continue offering prayers for Kano State and Nigeria, seeking Allah’s intervention in ensuring lasting peace, unity, and sustainable development.
The Deputy Amirul Hajj and Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Maharaz, described the inspection tour as a commendable initiative aimed at maintaining close contact with pilgrims and addressing their welfare needs.
He encouraged pilgrims to remain patient while awaiting flight schedules and called on them to pray fervently for the peace and progress of the country as political activities ahead of future elections gather momentum.
Representatives of the Ulama, Sheikh Abubakar Kandahar and Sheikh Tijjani Bala Kalarawi, also addressed pilgrims separately at Houses No. 4 and 5. They reminded them of the virtues of an accepted Hajj and the importance of patience, gratitude and exemplary conduct throughout their stay in the Holy Land.
The visits formed part of ongoing efforts by the Kano State Hajj delegation to ensure the comfort, welfare and spiritual wellbeing of pilgrims until their safe return to Nigeria.
