INEC Warn Against, Multiple Registration In Kwara
The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has warned that any one caught engaging in double or multiple registration in the ongoing Continuous Covers Registration (CVR) exercise will be punished in accordance with the provisions of the law.
The INEC Residents Electoral Commissioner in Kwara state,Dr, Hale Longpet gave the warning during a stakeholders meeting at the commission office in Ilorin.
He said the essence of the exercise is to avail those who have attained the voting age or those who did not register the opportunity to register.

According to him during the period citizens will also have the opportunity to transfer their registration within or outside the state, adding that damaged PVCs would also be replaced as provided by the law .

Longpet explained that uncollected permanent voters card (PVCs ) have been sent to all INEC local government area offices for collection by registered voters.
He advised prospective registrants to provide accurate and valid Information to avoid problem during registration process.
The INEC Commissioner noted that the commission will work with security agencies to ensure safety and security of registrants and INEC personnel’s at all the continuous voters registration centres.
He urged the general public to report any suspicious activity or security concerns to the relevant authority for prompt action .
Longpet also called on the political parties and other stakeholders to enlighten the people in their domains on the need to take advantage of the exercise to register.
