Governor  Yusuf Vows Decisive Action as Bandits Attack Four Kano LGAs

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has vowed to take decisive measures to prevent further bandit attacks following reported incidents in four local government areas of the state.

The attacks were reported in Chiromawa community in Garun Mallam Local Government Area, Beli in Rogo, Bebeji and communities around Gwarzo.

Yusuf, who condemned the incidents as “deeply disturbing and unacceptable”, also expressed sympathy to victims and families affected by the attacks.

The governor’s reaction was contained in a statement issued by his Director-General, Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the state government is working with security agencies to strengthen security in the affected communities and prevent further attacks.

Yusuf said relevant authorities had been directed to intensify surveillance, intelligence gathering and rapid-response mechanisms in the affected areas.

He urged residents to remain calm and avoid actions capable of escalating tension, assuring them that the government was working closely with security agencies to restore confidence and protect lives and property.

The governor also appealed to residents to cooperate with security personnel and provide credible information that could assist in preventing further attacks and apprehending the perpetrators.

He commended security personnel for their efforts and urged them to sustain intelligence-led operations, particularly in vulnerable communities across the state.

Yusuf prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed in the attacks, the speedy recovery of the injured and the safe return of any persons abducted.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of residents and ensuring peace and security across Kano State.
