Gov. Yusuf Mourns Renowned Political Singer Kosan Waka, Condoles Family
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned political singer, Muhammadu Buhari, popularly known as Kosan Waka, describing his passing as a painful loss to Kano State, Katsina State and the Hausa entertainment industry.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Governor’s Director General, Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
According to the family, Kosan Waka died on Sunday at the age of 47 and will be laid to rest at his hometown of Tsanni Village, Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, by 5:00 p.m. today.
Governor Yusuf extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, especially his mother, as well as his friends, associates, admirers and the people of Kano State over the painful loss.
He described the late Kosan Waka as a Kano-based patriotic son of Katsina whose music transcended politics and became a powerful medium for promoting unity, preserving Hausa cultural heritage and enlightening the public on issues of governance and society.
The Governor noted that through his exceptional talent, creativity and captivating performances, Kosan Waka carved a unique place for himself in Nigeria’s entertainment landscape and earned the admiration of millions across the country.
He added that the late singer’s enduring contributions to political communication, Hausa music and the creative industry would continue to be remembered for generations.
Governor Yusuf prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, widen and illuminate his grave, admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, friends and loved ones the strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.
The Governor also joined the entertainment industry, political associates and millions of admirers across Nigeria in mourning the late Kosan Waka, praying that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him eternal rest.
