Engr. Ganduje Hosts Northwest University Vice Chancellor, Reaffirms Support for Sustainable Campus Electrification

The Executive Director, Technical Services of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Engr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, FNSE, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to expanding sustainable energy solutions for educational institutions across Nigeria.

Engr. Ganduje gave the assurance while receiving the Vice Chancellor of Northwest University Kano, Professor Amina Salihi Bayero, on a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.

During the meeting, Professor Bayero highlighted the university’s growing energy needs and formally requested the provision of a Solar Mini-Grid Project as well as a 500KVA transformer to enhance electricity supply across the institution’s academic, administrative, and residential facilities.

She noted that improved power infrastructure would significantly support teaching, learning, research activities, and overall campus operations, thereby contributing to the university’s pursuit of academic excellence.

In his remarks, Engr. Ganduje commended the university management for its dedication to educational development and its proactive efforts to seek sustainable solutions to infrastructure challenges.

He reiterated the Rural Electrification Agency’s resolve to support institutions of higher learning through innovative and renewable energy initiatives capable of providing reliable and environmentally friendly power supply.

The visit underscored the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and energy sector stakeholders in advancing Nigeria’s development agenda through improved access to electricity and sustainable infrastructure.
