SANA COMPANY HONOURS GOVERNOR ABBA KABIR YUSUF, OTHER KANO HAJJ OFFICIALS WITH PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS IN MAKKAH

A leading Hajj service provider in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sana Company, has honoured the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, with the award of Best Governor in Nigeria, in recognition of his exceptional commitment to pilgrims’ welfare and effective coordination during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The award was presented at a grand award dinner organised by the company in Iskan, Makkah, where prominent Hajj stakeholders, government officials, Islamic scholars, and dignitaries gathered to celebrate individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to pilgrims.
Presenting the award, the Head of Sana Company, Alhaji Abdullah Muhammad Hassan, commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication towards ensuring the comfort, safety, and welfare of Kano State pilgrims throughout the Hajj operations.
He noted that the Governor’s consistent support and strategic interventions significantly contributed to the smooth conduct of Hajj activities for pilgrims from Kano State.
Other distinguished personalities honoured at the event included Alhaji Sheikh Bashir Arabi, a Board Member of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board; the Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle; and the Amirul Hajj of the Year, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gaya, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, highlighted the critical role played by Sana Company in the success of the Hajj operation. He explained that the company serves as the custodian of pilgrims’ passports for Nusuk processing and is also responsible for providing feeding and transportation services for pilgrims in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.
Alhaji Matawalle expressed gratitude to Sana Company for recognising the efforts of the Kano State delegation and applauded the management of the organisation for its continued partnership and support towards successful Hajj operations.
Receiving the award on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Amirul Hajj of the Year and Emir of Gaya, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, thanked Sana Company for the honour bestowed on the Governor and acknowledged the company’s role in enhancing the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims in the Holy Land.
He stated that the recognition serves as further motivation for the Kano State Government to continue implementing policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare and spiritual experience of pilgrims.
The event attracted top management officials, respected Islamic scholars, government representatives, and other notable personalities from Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, underscoring the strong partnership between Hajj service providers and stakeholders committed to the success of the annual pilgrimage.
