All Progressives Congress Postpones House of Representatives Primaries to Saturday
The All Progressives Congress has postponed its House of Representatives primary election for the 2027 general elections to Saturday, May 16, 2026.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the party on Thursday, explaining that the adjustment affects only the House of Representatives primaries, while the timetable for other primary elections remains unchanged.
According to the revised schedule released by the party, the primaries will now hold as follows:
House of Representatives — Saturday, May 16, 2026
Senate — Monday, May 18, 2026
State House of Assembly — Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Governorship — Thursday, May 21, 2026
Presidential — Saturday, May 23, 2026
The party, however, did not state reasons for the postponement of the House of Representatives primaries.
