The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Kwara State, is set to graduate a total of 11,886 students during its 40th Convocation Ceremony, with 316 bagging First Class honours.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Wahab Egbewole (SAN), disclosed this on Monday while briefing journalists on the activities lined up for the convocation scheduled for October 21st and 22nd, 2025.
According to him, 4,120 graduates obtained Second Class (Upper Division), 5,939 earned Second Class (Lower Division), 1,078 will be graduating with Third Class, while 11 students will graduate with a Pass degree.
Professor Egbewole emphasized that UNILORIN has continued to maintain its place among Nigeriaโs top-ranked universities, attracting significant research and infrastructural funding, including โฆ2.5 billion in grants allocated by TETFund for 2025.
He further revealed that one of the universityโs Associate Professors has been recognized among the most cited scholars globally on Google Scholar, boasting an impressive 11,826 citations, underscoring the institutionโs research excellence.
The Vice Chancellor also announced that the Visitor to the University, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will commission seven new projects as part of the convocation activities.
