MATAWALLE RELOCATES TO KEBBI, ASSURES SAFE RESCUE OF KIDNAPPED MAGA SCHOOLGIRLS
The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has relocated to Kebbi State on the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lead coordinated efforts for the safe rescue of the kidnapped students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area.
Briefing newsmen at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Dr. Matawalle said the President is deeply concerned about the incident and has ordered heightened strategic operations to ensure the immediate rescue and safe return of the schoolgirls.
He disclosed that both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches are being deployed, with substantial security equipment and personnel already stationed in the affected areas. According to him, full cooperation between federal and state authorities is underway to achieve the desired outcome.
Speaking on reports of military withdrawal from the area prior to the attack, the minister confirmed that the personnel on duty that day have been apprehended. He added that investigations are ongoing and anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law.
