Terrorists Attack Catholic School in Niger, Abduct Students and Staff in Overnight Raid
Panic has gripped the Papiri community in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State following a late-night attack on St. Mary’s Catholic School, where terrorists abducted an unconfirmed number of students and staff.
The details of the incident remain unclear, but sources told Daily Trust that the attackers stormed the school under the cover of darkness, whisking away many students during the raid.
A senior member of one of the Catholic churches in Niger State confirmed the abduction, stating that the school authorities were still compiling the list of those missing.
“We can confirm that the attack happened, but we are still trying to ascertain the actual number of students and staff taken,” the source said.
The latest incident adds to the growing wave of school-targeted abductions in Northern Nigeria, sparking renewed concerns over the safety of educational institutions, especially in rural communities.
