The First Kano Professor Education Secretary, Mamunu Mustapha, Assumes Duty — Declares Zero Tolerance to Laziness and Absenteeism
Dawakin Tofa Local Government of Kano State witnessed a historic occasion as Professor Mamunu Mustapha, the first professor to be appointed as a Local Government Education Secretary in the state, officially assumed duty amid jubilation from staff, family, friends, and well-wishers.
On arrival at the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) office, Professor Mustapha was warmly received by the Director of Personnel, Malam Sa’idu Tumfafi, who described him as a man of integrity and vision.
“We are confident that Professor Mamunu Mustapha will use his vast knowledge and experience to improve education in Dawakin Tofa. He is a man of his word, and we trust his leadership will bring positive change,” Malam Tumfafi said.
In his maiden speech, Professor Mustapha expressed gratitude to the Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government, Hon. Anas Mukhtar Bello Danmaliki, for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment.
“I sincerely thank our Local Government Chairman, Hon. Anas Mukhtar Bello Danmaliki, for giving me this opportunity. I will not disappoint the trust placed in me. From today, I declare zero tolerance to laziness and absenteeism. Every officer, teacher, and education worker must be ready to discharge their duties diligently. The era of laxity is over — together, we will build a vibrant and result-oriented education system in Dawakin Tofa,” he declared.
The new Education Secretary stressed that supervision and monitoring mechanisms would be reinforced to ensure compliance with standards, while teachers and staff would be encouraged to serve as role models to students. He also emphasized collaboration with parents, traditional rulers, and community leaders to strengthen education delivery in the area.

Santurakin Sardaunan Kasar Hausa, commended the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Chairman for appointing Professor Mustapha, describing him as highly capable and equal to the task.

Staff of the Education Authority expressed optimism that his tenure would usher in a new era of discipline, accountability, and development in the education sector of Dawakin Tofa Local Government.
