Doguwa Empowers Women With Poultry, Grants to Boost Livelihoods

The member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has empowered 200 women in his constituency with poultry farming support and cash grants aimed at strengthening their livelihoods and promoting economic self-reliance.
The empowerment programme, held at the Dadinkowa Town Hall in Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State, provided beneficiaries with poultry birds, feed and medication, alongside a N100,000 cash grant each to enable them to establish, sustain or expand their poultry businesses.
The initiative is part of efforts to create sustainable sources of income for women and support them to become economically productive members of their communities.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Doguwa said the empowerment programme was conceived to provide women with practical means of livelihood while helping them build sustainable businesses capable of supporting their families.
He explained that poultry farming was deliberately chosen as one of the areas of intervention because of its potential to generate regular income and create opportunities for women at the grassroots.
