Dawakin Kudu/Warawa By-Election Reflects APC’s Growing Political Strength, Says Gov. Yusuf

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has described the outcome of the recently concluded Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election as a significant indicator of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s political momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor stated that the successful conduct of the election and the impressive voter turnout reflected the electorate’s continued confidence in the APC and its leadership.
According to a statement issued by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the by-election provided valuable insight into the prevailing political sentiment among voters and highlighted the party’s sustained support across Kano State.
Governor Yusuf noted that the election was conducted in a peaceful, free, and fair environment, enabling citizens to exercise their democratic rights without hindrance.
He added that the high level of participation demonstrated the public’s commitment to the APC and confidence in the developmental initiatives being pursued by the party.
The governor commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the efficient conduct of the poll and praised security agencies for ensuring a secure and orderly electoral process.
He further stated that the peaceful conduct and outcome of the election had reinforced public trust in Nigeria’s democratic institutions and electoral framework.
Governor Yusuf congratulated the APC candidate on his victory and urged him to justify the mandate entrusted to him through effective, responsive, and people-centered representation.
He expressed optimism that the outcome of the by-election would further strengthen the APC’s position in Kano State and provide additional momentum for future electoral engagements.
The governor also commented on the absence of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) from the contest, describing it as an indication of the party’s limited political presence within the constituency.
According to him, the opposition party’s decision not to participate suggested a lack of sufficient support to mount a competitive challenge against the APC in the area.
“The by-election has once again demonstrated the confidence the people have in our party and highlighted the current political realities within the state,” he stated.
Governor Yusuf reassured residents of Kano State that his administration would remain committed to implementing policies and programmes aimed at improving citizens’ welfare and advancing socio-economic development across the state.
He also congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the APC, as well as the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on what he described as the party’s strong performance in the recently concluded by-elections nationwide.
The governor expressed confidence that the outcome of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa by-election would provide a solid foundation for continued electoral success for the APC, particularly as preparations gradually build toward the 2027 general elections.
