Hajj 2026: Reps Appropriation Chairman Abubakar Bichi Donates N81 Million to Bichi Pilgrims in Minna

The Member representing Bichi Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi, has donated 300 US dollars each to 193 pilgrims from Bichi Local Government Area currently performing the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The donation was announced during the lawmaker’s visit to the pilgrims in Minna on Thursday, where thousands of pilgrims are observing one of the compulsory rites of Hajj.
The 300-dollar support package, equivalent to about N420,000 per pilgrim, brings the total amount donated by the federal lawmaker to N81,060,000.
Addressing the pilgrims during the visit, Hon. Abubakar Bichi described the gesture as part of his annual commitment towards supporting pilgrims from his constituency in order to ease their stay and religious activities in the Holy Land.
He stated that the welfare of his constituents remains a top priority, adding that the donation was intended to assist the pilgrims in meeting some of their personal needs while performing the sacred pilgrimage.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation urged the pilgrims to remain law-abiding, disciplined and responsible throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Hon. Bichi also called on them to be worthy ambassadors of Bichi Local Government, Kano State and Nigeria by exhibiting good conduct and respecting the rules guiding the Hajj exercise.
He further appealed to the pilgrims to use the opportunity of the spiritual gathering to offer prayers for lasting peace, unity, progress and economic prosperity in Nigeria.
The lawmaker stressed the importance of prayers at a time when the country is facing various socio-economic and security challenges, noting that collective prayers remain vital for national development and stability.
The pilgrims expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, while praying for Allah’s blessings, protection and continued success for the lawmaker.
Hon. Abubakar Bichi has consistently supported pilgrims from his constituency over the years, a development that has earned him commendation from community leaders and residents across Bichi Federal Constituency.
