DG Kano Pilgrims Board Assures Pilgrims of Hitch-Free Hajj Operations

The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, has reassured Kano State pilgrims in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of smooth and hitch-free Hajj operations, assuring them that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure their comfort throughout the pilgrimage.
Alhaji Matawalle gave the assurance while addressing pilgrims and officials in Makkah, where he expressed satisfaction with the level of preparations made by the board and service providers for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Director General disclosed that following the completion of the major Hajj rites at Arafat, Kano State pilgrims would be conveyed directly to Masjid al-Haram in Makkah to facilitate their worship and ease movement during the concluding stages of the pilgrimage.
He also dismissed reports circulating in some quarters alleging that Kano pilgrims would be required to travel long distances on foot from certain locations to the Grand Mosque. According to him, such claims are false, misleading and intended to create unnecessary anxiety among pilgrims.
Alhaji Matawalle described the reports as mischievous and politically motivated, emphasizing that the welfare of Kano pilgrims remains the board’s top priority and that transportation arrangements have been carefully planned to guarantee convenience and safety.
The Director General further commended the catering company responsible for providing meals to Kano pilgrims, noting that the quality of food supplied has met acceptable standards. He said the company has continued to serve healthy, nutritious and tasty meals, which have received positive feedback from pilgrims.
He urged pilgrims to remain focused on the spiritual significance of Hajj, adhere to the guidelines issued by officials and disregard unfounded rumours capable of causing confusion.
Alhaji Matawalle reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government and the Pilgrims Welfare Board to providing quality services that would enable pilgrims to perform their religious obligations in a peaceful and conducive atmosphere.
