2026 Hajj: Max Air Reschedules Departure Date for First Batch of Kano Pilgrims
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a change in the departure date for the first batch of Kano pilgrims scheduled to be airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise by Max Air.
According to a press statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman A. Dederi, the inaugural flight earlier scheduled for Thursday, 14th May 2026, has now been shifted to Friday, 15th May 2026, following recent adjustments in flight arrangements.
The statement explained that the affected intending pilgrims are those from the following Local Government Areas:
Gwale
Dala
Fagge
Ungogo
The Board therefore advised all pilgrims from the affected Local Government Areas who were initially expected to travel on 14th May to take note of the new departure date and comply with subsequent directives and reporting schedules.
Max Air expressed regret over any inconvenience the adjustment may have caused and appealed for understanding and cooperation from all intending pilgrims.
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board further assured pilgrims that adequate measures are being put in place to guarantee a smooth and successful airlift operation throughout the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Board also pledged to continue providing timely information and relevant updates to all pilgrims as preparations progress.
