A new chapter has begun at the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) following the appointment of Dr. Idris Garba as the new Registrar/Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment was formally presented on March 5, 2026, at the Federal Ministry of Health, where the Honourable Minister of State for Health handed over the official letter of appointment in the presence of senior ministry officials. The ceremony was also attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry alongside other key stakeholders in the health sector.

Described by colleagues as a professional known for competence, sagacity, and unwavering dedication, Dr. Garba has outlined an ambitious agenda aimed at repositioning the board for greater efficiency and global competitiveness. He pledged to prioritise capacity building for radiographers, improve staff welfare, and strengthen monitoring as well as regulatory frameworks within the profession.

According to him, the RRBN will be strategically reformed to align with international best practices and standards. He emphasised that collective effort would be vital to achieving these goals, calling on radiographers across the country to support his leadership while also sharing constructive feedback and innovative ideas.
