Doguwa Unveils ₦2bn Empowerment Drive, Targets 25,000 Women, Youths, New APC Members in Kano
…Empowerment programme resumes across Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency

The Chairman of the Northern Regional Caucus of the House of Representatives and Member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, OON, has announced the continuation and expansion of a massive empowerment programme targeted at women, youths, farmers, and party faithfuls across the 21 wards of the constituency.
In a New Year message addressed to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, Hon. Doguwa disclosed that 25,000 women beneficiaries would receive a ₦20,000 soft start-up capital each, as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots economic participation and party loyalty.
According to him, the empowerment programme, which commenced in December 2025, was only temporarily paused due to the New Year holiday and is now set to resume following consultations with key party leaders and stakeholders.
“We will continue our planned programme of empowering party women and youths who are genuine APC members by giving each woman a soft start-up capital of ₦20,000 across the 21 wards of our constituency,” Doguwa stated.
Beyond financial grants, the federal lawmaker revealed that preparations were at an advanced stage for the distribution of trade tools, fertilizers for indigent farmers, and essential household items, aimed at boosting productivity, livelihoods, and food security within the constituency.
Rt. Hon. Doguwa further disclosed that he has secured over ₦2 billion through constituency projects and empowerment interventions, reinforcing his long-standing commitment to delivering tangible dividends of democracy to his constituents.
A key highlight of the intervention, he noted, is a special inclusion framework anchored on the principle of “Hana Wani, Hana Kai”—meaning no one is excluded, no one is denied.
In line with this principle, Doguwa announced that new APC members who recently defected from the NNPP, following the call by Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, have been deliberately captured in the empowerment scheme.
“We have specifically set aside a share of this grand empowerment programme for our prospective new members who answered the governor’s call and joined the APC. They will fully benefit from these interventions,” he said.
The lawmaker, who described himself as the leader and “commander” of the political journey in Doguwa/Tudun Wada, expressed gratitude to Allah for the grace to witness the New Year 2026 and reiterated his unwavering commitment to unity, inclusiveness, and development.
He also warmly welcomed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the APC, praying for peace, success, and divine guidance for the party’s administration in Kano State and the APC-led Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“May Allah bring goodness and joy to all the affairs of the APC administration in Kano State and to the APC-led Federal Government of Nigeria,” Doguwa prayed.
The announcement has been widely welcomed by party members and community leaders, who described the empowerment initiative as one of the most extensive grassroots interventions in the history of Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency.
Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa remains one of the most experienced legislators in Nigeria’s National Assembly and a leading voice for inclusive governance, grassroots empowerment, and party cohesion.
