Kwankwasiyya Scholars Assembly Constitutes Foreign Opportunities Committee to Deepen Global Academic Collaboration
The Kwankwasiyya Scholars Assembly (KSA) has constituted a Foreign Opportunities Committee aimed at strengthening international collaboration, promoting academic excellence, and creating pathways for scholars to access global educational and professional opportunities.
According to a statement signed by Aminu Rabiu Tela, Chief of Staff to the National President of KSA, the committee is charged with coordinating the activities of Kwankwasiyya scholars in the diaspora and facilitating linkages with international partners that can drive innovation and sustainable development in Kano State and Nigeria.
The statement listed Dr. Fahad Ibrahim Danladi (United States) as Chairman, and Engr. Haroun Muhammed (United Kingdom) as Secretary of the committee.
Other notable members include Dr. Muhammad Hamisu (Momeen), President of Kwankwasiyya Diaspora (UK); Dr. Abdulaziz T. Bako (USA); Dr. Huzaifa Umar (Cyprus); Dr. Sani Haruna (Thailand); and Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Jatau (Australia), among others — making up a total of 48 accomplished scholars and professionals across continents.
The newly constituted body will identify and share global scholarships and research opportunities, promote mentorship programs, and develop reintegration initiatives for returning scholars. It will also encourage inclusive programs that empower youth and women within the Kwankwasiyya movement.
Furthermore, the statement revealed that scholars who secure international placements through the committee’s efforts will be recommended to the Kano State Scholarship Board for necessary support — a move that underscores the government’s commitment to education and human capital development.
Speaking on the development, Dr. Mansur Hassan, National President of KSA, congratulated all appointees and urged them to work diligently toward advancing the Assembly’s mission of global academic engagement and community development.
“This committee symbolizes the bridge between our intellectual community at home and abroad. By connecting scholars globally, we are promoting excellence, innovation, and opportunities that will benefit Kano State and Nigeria at large,” Dr. Hassan said.
The establishment of the Foreign Opportunities Committee marks a major milestone in KSA’s agenda to leverage global partnerships for the empowerment of its members and the advancement of education within the Kwankwasiyya movement.
