BREAKING: Shake-Up as Tinubu Fires Service Chiefs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has relieved the nation’s Service Chiefs of their duties in a major security shake-up, appointing new heads for the armed forces.
The development was announced on Friday in a statement issued by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication.
According to the statement, General Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, has been replaced by General Olufemi Oluyede, who until now served as the Chief of Army Staff.
Major-General W. Shaibu has been appointed as the new Chief of Army Staff, while Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke takes over as the Chief of Air Staff. Rear Admiral I. Abbas was named the new Chief of Naval Staff.
The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye, however, retains his position.
The statement described the changes as part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture and enhance inter-service coordination in tackling emerging threats across the country.
