BREAKING: 2027: Atiku Unveils Akobundu as ADC Campaign DG, Names El-Rufai Deputy Chairman
Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled a major leadership structure for his 2027 presidential campaign, appointing Senator Augustine Okwudiri Akobundu as Director-General of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council.
Atiku also named former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, as Deputy Chairman of the campaign council.
The appointments were announced on Thursday by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council.
The move comes as the ADC intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the party expected to roll out its campaign structure and strategy ahead of the polls.
Akobundu, a former senator, will oversee the day-to-day coordination of the presidential campaign, while El-Rufai is expected to play a key role in the leadership of the campaign council.
The appointments are among the latest steps by the ADC leadership to consolidate its campaign machinery ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
