Governor Yusuf Delights Kano Pilgrims with Sallah Cash Gifts in Holy Land

Thousands of Kano State pilgrims performing the 2026 Hajj have received a special Sallah package from the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, in a gesture aimed at enhancing their welfare and comfort during their stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The distribution of the cash incentives was flagged off at the Kano Pilgrims Camp in Mina by the Kano State Amirul Hajj and Emir of Gaya, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, who described the initiative as a reflection of the governor’s dedication to the welfare of Kano citizens, including those undertaking the sacred pilgrimage.
Addressing the pilgrims, the Amirul Hajj said the governor’s concern for the well-being of the pilgrims remained evident despite his physical absence from the Holy Land.
He noted that Governor Yusuf had continued to monitor the welfare of the pilgrims and had put in place various measures to ensure they performed their Hajj rites under conducive conditions.
“This Sallah gift clearly demonstrates His Excellency’s commitment to the welfare of Kano pilgrims. Though he is not here physically, his support and concern for the success of their pilgrimage are unmistakable,” he said.
Dr. Abdulkadir also commended the exemplary conduct of Kano pilgrims since their arrival in Saudi Arabia, describing them as disciplined, law-abiding and devoted to their religious obligations.
According to him, the smooth conduct of the Hajj exercise involving the Kano contingent was made possible through the cooperation of pilgrims, officials and other stakeholders working together to ensure a successful pilgrimage.
Speaking on behalf of the pilgrims, Alhaji Abdulkadir Rano expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for the generous gesture, saying the cash support would assist many pilgrims as they complete the remaining stages of the Hajj exercise.
He said the governor’s intervention had further boosted the morale of the pilgrims and demonstrated that the state government remained committed to their welfare even while they were far from home.
Also speaking, two female pilgrims, Hajiya Amina and Hajiya Aisha, separately praised the governor for the timely Sallah gift, describing it as a thoughtful and compassionate gesture.
They noted that the support would ease some of the financial burdens faced by pilgrims and prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection and blessings upon Governor Yusuf and his administration.
The event was witnessed by members of the Kano State Hajj delegation, officials of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board and hundreds of appreciative pilgrims who offered prayers for the governor, Kano State and Nigeria.
The Sallah cash distribution is the latest in a series of welfare initiatives introduced by the Kano State Government to ensure that its pilgrims enjoy a comfortable, successful and spiritually rewarding Hajj experience in the Holy Land.
