Kano Pilgrims in Mina Receive Personal Attention as DG Matawalle Inspects Tents, Assures Pilgrims of Comfort
In a demonstration of commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of Kano State pilgrims performing the 2026 Hajj, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Matawalle, conducted an extensive inspection of pilgrims’ accommodation in Mina, moving from tent to tent to personally assess their condition and address any challenges.
The inspection tour, which covered various tents occupied by Kano pilgrims, was aimed at ensuring that all arrangements put in place by the Board were functioning effectively and that pilgrims were enjoying a conducive environment to perform their religious obligations without difficulty.
During the exercise, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Matawalle interacted directly with pilgrims, listened to their observations and concerns, and instructed relevant officials to promptly address issues requiring attention. He reaffirmed the Board’s determination to provide quality services throughout the Hajj period and to ensure that every pilgrim receives the necessary support.
The Director General emphasized that the welfare of pilgrims remains the Board’s highest priority, noting that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had directed all officials involved in the Hajj operation to work tirelessly toward guaranteeing a smooth and successful pilgrimage for all Kano pilgrims.
Matawalle commended the cooperation and patience demonstrated by the pilgrims, urging them to continue observing the guidelines issued by Hajj authorities and to maintain discipline while carrying out the rites of Hajj. He also encouraged them to devote themselves to prayers for peace, unity, and progress in Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
Pilgrims who spoke during the inspection expressed appreciation for the Director General’s personal visit and the attention being accorded to their welfare. They described the gesture as reassuring and reflective of the leadership’s commitment to ensuring their comfort in the Holy Land.
Many of the pilgrims noted that the presence of senior officials among them boosted their confidence and provided an avenue for immediate resolution of challenges. They commended the Kano State Government and the Pilgrims Welfare Board for the arrangements made in Mina and other holy sites.
The inspection formed part of ongoing monitoring activities by the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board to ensure effective coordination of services, including accommodation, feeding, transportation, medical care, and general welfare support for pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.
As the Hajj rites continue, the Board has reiterated its commitment to maintaining close contact with pilgrims and ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to facilitate a hitch-free and spiritually rewarding pilgrimage for the people of Kano State.
