Kano Launches Statewide Hajj Training as Pilgrims Welfare Board Rolls Out 20 Induction Centres
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially commenced its statewide Hajj Induction Course (BITA), marking a major step in preparing intending pilgrims for the 2026 pilgrimage.
Declaring the programme open, the Director General of the Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, urged all prospective pilgrims to take the training seriously, stressing its importance in ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj experience.
He explained that the induction course, scheduled to run for five weeks, is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge, practical guidance, and spiritual orientation required for the sacred journey to Saudi Arabia.
According to the Director General, the Board has established no fewer than 20 training centres strategically located across various Local Government Areas in Kano State to guarantee easy access for all registered pilgrims. The centres are spread across Dala, Kumbotso, Ungogo, Bichi, Gwarzo, Wudil, Gezawa, Kura, Rano, Tudun Wada, Doguwa, Takai, Rogo, Rimin-Gado, Karaye, Bebeji, and Gaya.
Specialised centres have also been designated at the School for Arabic Studies and the College for Qur’anic Studies to further enhance the training exercise.
Matawalle reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to ensuring that all intending pilgrims from Kano State are adequately prepared spiritually, physically, and mentally for the Hajj rites.
He called on all registered pilgrims to attend the sessions regularly and take full advantage of the programme, describing it as a critical component of the state’s Hajj preparation framework.
The initiative underscores the Board’s broader effort to promote a well-organised and hitch-free pilgrimage for Kano contingents.
