Doguwa Mourns Civil Defence Officer, Calls for Probe into Violence After Ramadan Relief Distribution

The member representing Doguwa and Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) following a disturbance that occurred after the distribution of Ramadan and Sallah relief materials in Tudun Wada Local Government Area.

In a statement issued on March 13, 2026, the lawmaker explained that the unfortunate incident happened after the conclusion of a humanitarian outreach programme organised to distribute food items and cash support to male and female constituents in order to ease their observance of the Ramadan fast and assist preparations for the forthcoming Sallah celebrations.

He noted that he was later informed that some suspected hoodlums attempted to cause unrest at the distribution venue, a situation that reportedly led to the death of the Civil Defence officer.

Doguwa extended his condolences to the leadership of the NSCDC, the family of the deceased officer, and the entire people of Tudun Wada Local Government Area, praying for the repose of the late officer’s soul and for strength for those affected by the loss. 🤲

He also called on relevant security agencies to urgently conduct a thorough investigation into the incident with a view to identifying those responsible and taking appropriate legal action against them.

The lawmaker further cautioned individuals spreading false information and defamatory remarks linking him directly to the incident, stressing that necessary legal steps would be taken to protect his reputation and that of the people of Doguwa and Tudun Wada constituencies. 📰
