Tudun-Wada Elders Urge Governor Yusuf to Strengthen Kano Security with Inclusive Leadership
Stakeholders commend governor, spotlight retired Air Commodore Salisu Yusha’u Abdullahi for internal security role
Concerned elders and key stakeholders from Tudun Wada Local Government Area have commended Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his sustained commitment to peace, security and development, while respectfully calling for inclusive leadership in the state’s security architecture.
In a press statement issued on security leadership and inclusive representation in Kano State, the group acknowledged the governor’s efforts at navigating the state through evolving security challenges and emphasized the need for experienced and capable leadership within the Ministry responsible for Internal Security and Special Services.
The stakeholders drew the attention of the governor to the credentials and experience of Air Commodore Salisu Yusha’u Abdullahi (Rtd), describing him as a seasoned security professional with a distinguished career in the Nigerian Air Force. According to the statement, the retired senior officer held several key command and strategic positions during his service, with responsibilities spanning operations, personnel management, logistics and training at high levels.
They noted that Air Commodore Abdullahi’s background in security strategy, institutional leadership and his current advisory role within the administration position him to make a meaningful contribution to strengthening Kano State’s security framework if considered for the role.
Beyond competence, the elders and stakeholders also stressed the importance of inclusive governance, pointing out that Tudun Wada Local Government Area—described as politically significant and consistently supportive of successive administrations—currently has limited representation at cabinet level.
The statement argued that considering a competent indigene of Tudun Wada for a sensitive portfolio such as internal security would not only enhance public confidence but also promote balanced participation and reinforce a sense of belonging among communities across the state.
The group was careful to state that the appeal was made with full respect for the governor’s constitutional authority and discretion in making appointments. They expressed confidence in Governor Yusuf’s commitment to fairness, merit and the overall interest of Kano State.
Reaffirming their loyalty, the elders and stakeholders pledged their continued support and prayers for the success of the governor’s administration, expressing optimism that inclusive and merit-driven decisions would further consolidate peace and stability in the state.
