CDHR Condemns Brutal Killing of Family of Six in Kano, Demands Swift Justice
The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) has strongly condemned the brutal killing of a family of six in Dorayi Chiranchi area of Gwale Local Government Area, Kano State, describing the incident as tragic, senseless and a grave threat to peace and justice.
In a statement signed by its Kano State Chairman, Comrade Aliyu Isma’il, the human rights body expressed deep sorrow over the incident, noting that the attack goes beyond the affected family and represents an assault on the collective conscience of Kano State and society at large.
The CDHR described the killing, allegedly carried out by unidentified persons, as a direct affront to the rule of law and a disturbing manifestation of growing violence that must not be tolerated in a democratic society.
“The protection of human life and the enforcement of law and order are fundamental to peace and stability,” the statement said, stressing that acts of lawlessness, if left unchecked, pose serious dangers to civil society and public safety.
The organisation stated that it stands in solidarity with the people of Dorayi Chiranchi and the wider Kano community in mourning the victims, while calling on relevant security agencies and authorities to conduct a thorough, transparent and speedy investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice without delay.
CDHR also called on community leaders, youth groups and civil society organisations to unite in condemning all forms of violence, emphasizing that collective action, public awareness and accountability are essential to building a peaceful and just society.
The rights group reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for justice, the protection of human rights and the strengthening of the rule of law, urging citizens to remain vigilant and supportive of lawful efforts aimed at preventing further violence in the state.
