Dawakin Tofa Ex-Councillors Hail Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Over Payment of Benefits

They say the gesture has restored dignity, unity, and joy among former local government officials

Former councillors of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area have commended the Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the payment of their long-awaited entitlements, describing the gesture as a sign of compassion and responsible governance.

The delegation of ex-councillors paid a courtesy visit to the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Kano State Government, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, to express their gratitude and reaffirm their loyalty to the administration.

“We Can Now Fulfil Family Responsibilities” — Garba Mudi

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Garba Mudi, the immediate past Leader of Dawakin Tofa Legislative Council, said the payment has brought relief and happiness to many families.

“Governor Yusuf’s action has changed our lives and restored our dignity. Many of us have now been able to give our children’s hands in marriage and handle other family responsibilities. This gesture touched our lives and the lives of our people,” he said.

‘We’ll Continue to Support Him’ — Yahaya Rocket

In his remarks, Hon. Abdullahi Yahaya Rocket said the councillors have every reason to support Governor Yusuf, describing him as a “kindhearted and just leader.”

“We will continue to stand by him and pray that we remain in the same political family to take Kano State to a greater height,” he stated.

‘Governor Yusuf Has No Political Bias’ — LG Vice Chairman

The Vice Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Magaji, lauded the Governor for approving the payments without considering political differences.

“His Excellency has shown true leadership that unites rather than divides. This single action has proved his commitment to fairness, equity, and the welfare of all,” Magaji said.

Bature: ‘Good Relationship Is the Foundation of Development’

Responding, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the Director General of Media and Publicity to the State Government, praised the ex-councillors for their show of appreciation and solidarity.

“When you have a boss who always strives to do the right thing, you can’t help but be proud. This payment will directly impact the grassroots and uplift many families,” Bature stated.

He urged the people of Dawakin Tofa to maintain unity and avoid divisions based on politics. “Good relationship among people is the foundation of development. We must not allow political differences to distract us. Allah has reasons for creating us together as one people. The political history of Kano cannot be complete without mentioning Dawakin Tofa and its contributions to governance and progress,” he added.

Renewed Loyalty to Governor Yusuf

The visit ended with renewed pledges of loyalty and cooperation toward the success of Governor Yusuf’s administration and the continued development of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, which remains one of the political powerhouses in Kano State.
