Arewa Youth Groups Urge President Tinubu to Appoint Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu as New Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation

In a decisive gathering held on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, in Kano, coordinated youth groups from Northern Nigeria convened to discuss the vacancy left by Mr. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who recently became the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The youth representatives urged President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider appointing Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu (Ja’oji) for the crucial role of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, particularly acknowledging Kano’s significant electoral support for the President during the 2023 general elections.

The groups emphasized Hon. Ja’oji’s dedication to youth development, recognized by the Emir of Daura, who honored him with the title Adon Garin Kasar Hausa – The Jewel of Hausa Land. A prominent figure in Kano State, Ja’oji has made significant contributions to human development, including establishing scholarship programs for students both locally and internationally.

With a strong political presence and grassroots support, Ja’oji’s loyalty to the President and commitment to APC’s policies make him an ideal candidate for the ministerial position. The youth groups expressed confidence that his appointment would yield positive outcomes in addressing humanitarian issues and alleviating poverty across the region.

The call for Hon. Ja’oji’s appointment reflects the keen desire of Northern youth to have a representative who resonates with their experiences and aspirations. The zonal coordinator, Balarabe Abdullahi Jega, reaffirmed their support and asserted that the President would not regret entrusting this important role to such a capable leader.
