Doguwa Targets Education Deficit, Plans 15 New Classroom Blocks Across Constituency
The member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has moved to tackle the shortage of educational infrastructure in his constituency with plans to construct 15 new blocks of classrooms across selected schools in Doguwa and Tudun Wada.
The projects, expected to commence in September 2026, are aimed at expanding learning facilities, reducing classroom congestion and creating a more conducive environment for pupils and students across the constituency.
The intervention will cover primary, secondary, Islamiyya and community schools, in what is expected to be a significant investment in grassroots educational infrastructure.
Among the schools earmarked to benefit are Doguwa Community School, Dadinkowa Community Science School, Asada Secondary School and Murmushi Primary School.
Others include Doka Primary/Islamiyya School, Burji Primary and Islamiyya School, Yarmaraya Secondary School, Dalawa Primary School in Kasko, Dalawa Katakuri Primary School and Zega Primary School.
The intervention will also cover Dakuktkum, Baburi Cikin Gari Community School and Sabongari Doguwa Islamiyya School, while additional schools in Doguwa and Tudun Wada are expected to be selected based on identified classroom needs.
The planned projects come against the backdrop of growing demand for educational facilities occasioned by increasing enrolment in schools across the constituency.
For communities grappling with inadequate classrooms, the intervention is expected to ease pressure on existing facilities and provide pupils and students with improved spaces for learning.
The construction of additional classrooms is also expected to enhance teacher-pupil interaction and contribute to creating a more conducive academic environment.
Stakeholders in the education sector have consistently identified adequate infrastructure as a critical component of efforts to improve learning outcomes, increase school enrolment and encourage children to remain in school.
For Doguwa and Tudun Wada communities, the proposed projects are expected to represent a direct intervention in one of the most important areas of human capital development — education.
