Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa Commiserates with Borno State Government and People, Condemns Brutal Suicide Attack in Gamboru Market

Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Caucus Chairman of Northern Members in the House of Representatives, has expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the recent suicide bombing at Gamboru Market Mosque in Maiduguri, Borno State, which claimed the lives of five worshippers and left dozens injured.

In a statement issued Thursday evening, Hon. Doguwa described the attack as a “heinous and cowardly act” targeting innocent citizens during Maghrib prayers — a sacred moment of devotion. He condemned the violence in the strongest terms and called for swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.

> “This is not only an attack on the people of Borno State, but a desecration of our shared humanity and faith,” Hon. Doguwa said. “We stand in solidarity with Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and the resilient people of Borno during this painful time.”

He urged security agencies to intensify surveillance and protection of public spaces, especially places of worship, during the festive season and beyond. He also called on community leaders and citizens to remain vigilant and united against forces seeking to destabilize the region.

Hon. Doguwa extends heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. He reaffirmed the commitment of Northern lawmakers to support all efforts aimed at restoring peace, security, and justice across the region.
