A Painful Loss to Kano: NUJ Online Media Chapel Mourns Hon. Ungogo, Hon. Daneji
The Kano State Online Media Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed profound sorrow over the death of two distinguished members of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who represented Ungogo and Kano Municipal constituencies respectively.
In a condolence message issued on Wednesday, the Chapel described the passing of the two lawmakers as a heartbreaking loss that has cast a deep pall over Kano State and beyond. According to the statement, their demise has deprived the state of committed legislators whose voices, wisdom, and dedication to public service greatly enriched governance and representation.
The Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Abubakar Abdulƙadir Ɗangambo, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibrin Ismail Falgore, members of the State Assembly, and the entire people of Kano State.
In the statement personally signed by him, Comrade Ɗangambo described the deaths as not only a personal tragedy for the families of the deceased but a monumental setback for Kano State and the nation at large. He noted that the departure of the two lawmakers has created a painful vacuum in the legislative space—one that will be difficult to fill given their experience, commitment, and passion for public service.

On behalf of all members of the Kano State Online Media Chapel, the Chairman prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive the shortcomings of the departed souls and grant their families, colleagues, and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
It will be recalled that Hon. Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, both serving members of the Kano State Legislature, passed away on Wednesday evening after a protracted illness.
