A Custodian of Islamic Knowledge Has Departed”: Murtala Sule Garo Mourns Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi at 101
Former deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has joined millions of mourners across Nigeria and beyond in grieving the passing of the globally respected Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
The revered Tijjaniyya leader died on Thursday in Bauchi after a brief illness at the age of 101, according to family sources.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Garo said he received the news of the scholar’s passing with deep sadness, describing him as “a custodian of Islamic education” and “a pillar in the Muslim world.”
He stated that Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi lived a life of exceptional service, spiritual leadership, and moral guidance, adding that his teachings and contributions to peace and unity would be missed by Muslims across the globe.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. I received the news of the passing of a pillar in the Muslim world. Sheikh Dahiru Usman’s teachings and commitment to peace in Nigeria will greatly be missed,” he said.
Garo extended his condolences to the late scholar’s immediate family, his disciples, and the entire Muslim community worldwide.
