PDP NEC Expels Makinde, Bala Mohammed, Dauda Lawal, Bode George, Dissolves 
Seven State EXCOs
The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deepened on Tuesday as the National Executive Committee (NEC), dominated by the faction loyal to Nyesom Wike, approved the expulsion of three serving governors—Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State—alongside elder statesman Chief Bode George.
Others expelled include the former Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara; former Minister of Special Duties, Senator Kabiru Tanimu Turaki; and the Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, among several other senior stakeholders.
The NEC also endorsed the dissolution of the PDP State Executive Committees in Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobe, Lagos, Edo, and Ekiti States.
The decisions were reached during the party’s 103rd NEC meeting held on Tuesday at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.
Presenting the memo that recommended the expulsions, the Acting National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, said the affected members had consistently violated subsisting court orders and acted in a manner capable of bringing the party into disrepute.
According to him, the leadership had no choice but to take “firm disciplinary measures to safeguard the integrity and cohesion of the PDP.”
The development marks a fresh escalation in the internal power struggle that has gripped the opposition party, raising new questions about its unity ahead of future electoral engagements.
