Tragedy in Kenya: Tourist Plane Crashes Near Coast, 11 Killed

A light aircraft carrying foreign tourists crashed in Kwale County near Kenya’s coast on Tuesday morning, killing 11 of the 12 people on board. The plane, which had just taken off and was headed to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, went down shortly after departure. The Maasai Mara is one of Africa’s most popular wildlife destinations, famed for the annual wildebeest migration from Tanzania’s Serengeti. In a statement, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) confirmed that government agencies had arrived at the crash site to investigate the cause of the accident and assess the damage.
