New Kano NSCDC Commandant Pledges Loyalty, Cooperation with Governor Yusuf

The newly deployed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State, Bala Bawa Bodinga, has pledged total loyalty and cooperation with the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, assuring his commitment to peace, security, and protection of lives and property in the state.
The new Commandant made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House, Kano, shortly after assuming office.
According to a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday, Bodinga vowed to work hand-in-hand with the state government and other security agencies to maintain stability and ensure the safety of residents.
“I will work with the Kano Governor and will not allow any group or other forces to make me go against you,”
Commandant Bodinga assured, emphasizing his readiness to foster professional synergy among security agencies across the state.
He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to upholding discipline, promoting intelligence sharing, and protecting critical national infrastructure within Kano’s territory.
Governor Yusuf Assures Support, Commends NSCDC’s Role
In his response, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf welcomed the new Commandant and expressed the state government’s readiness to provide every necessary support to enable him perform his duties effectively.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to peace and security, describing them as the foundation for Kano’s continued progress and development.
“Our administration will continue to strengthen collaboration among all security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property across every part of the state,”
Governor Yusuf said.
He commended the NSCDC for its contributions in protecting public facilities and critical infrastructure, especially in areas of community safety, conflict prevention, and disaster response.
Governor Yusuf further assured that his government remains open to strategic partnerships that promote security and social stability, noting that a peaceful Kano is essential for economic growth and national cohesion.
