Commissioner of Police Engages Retired Officers in Akwa Ibom State for Collaborative Community Safety

On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, FSI, warmly welcomed retired police officers during a courtesy visit held at the Command Headquarters. The visit was organized by the National Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (NARPON), led by Chairperson ASP Chief Anselem Eyo (Rtd).
During the meeting, Chief Eyo expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for hosting the retired officers and emphasized their eagerness to collaborate and support the ongoing activities of the Police Command.
In response, Commissioner Azare encouraged the retirees to act as bridge builders within their communities, promoting peace and adherence to the law. He reminded them of their professional code of conduct, underscoring that they continue to be bound by the laws they once enforced.
The Commissioner emphasized the importance of teamwork with local authorities to combat crime effectively, urging the retired officers to leverage their experience in the fight against criminal activities.
Acknowledging their concerns, CP Azare assured the Association of his support and commitment to enhancing their visibility and public engagement.
