22 -Year -old Housewife’s Killer Cought: Kano Police

 

 

The Kano State Police Command has announced a significant breakthrough in a case of culpable homicide that occurred on April 6, 2025, at Tsamiyar Duhuwa, Kano. After a diligent investigation supported by intelligence-led technical operations, the police arrested the principal suspect, Shu’aibu Abdulkadir, 35, on May 23, 2025.

This is contained in a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer of Kano State SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa and made available to newsmen on Tuesday.

 

According to the police, the suspect has confessed to the crime, admitting to trespassing into the victim’s matrimonial home, strangulating, and stabbing her with a knife on the neck, resulting in her death. The victim, Rumaisa Haruna, 22, was discovered by her husband, Ibrahim Mohammed, with severe neck injuries and was confirmed dead at the hospital.

 

The Kano State Police Command commended the detectives for their tireless efforts and professionalism that led to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect is currently in custody and is helping further investigation to ensure full justice is served.

 

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police. The Command assured the public of its commitment to safeguarding all residents and maintaining peace and order in the state.
