Kano state Government has reaffirmed its commitment to address the lingering problems of Housing deficit that is bedeviling the state.
The state Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, made the assertion during his maiden meeting with the management staff of the ministry. He said that government has confidence in the Ministry to turn around the challenges of housing deficit in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the ministry’s Director Public Enlightenment Adamu Abdullahi and Made available to newsmen in Kano.
The statement added that Arc Adamu, explained that the ministry within the two month of it’s establishment was able to identified locations where Housing development schemes are been pursued by His Excellency the Executive Governor Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration at Lambu in Tofa LGA, Yargaya in D/Kudu LGA and completion of Kwankwasiyya, Amana and Bandirawo Cities mass housing projects, adding that the ministry will strive and initiate more housing schemes for Urban and rural development.
The Commissioner, called on the Directors to recommit themselves towards transformation process of the state. He added that the new Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is determined to ensure that every Kano citizen gets access to affordable, safe and dignified Housing.
