The Kano State Executive Council, chaired by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a whopping N51,575,700,575.96 for various projects and programs in the state. The approvals were made during the 27th Executive Council meeting held on April 28, 2025.
The projects approved include infrastructure development, healthcare, education, environment, and social welfare programs. Some of the notable projects include the construction of roads, bridges, and buildings, procurement of vehicles and equipment, and payment of compensation for properties affected by government projects.
The statement signed by the Commissioner of Information Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya stated that the council approved N 1, 212, 571, 013.79 for upgrading of School for Islamic Studies Dawakin Tofa, Tofa and Ungogo. The council also Approved the the sum of 5, 386, 380, 955.00 for the continuation of forieng scholarship. The 27th Executive Council approved the sum of 15, 667, 634, 645.10 for the segments of the outstanding severance gratuity , Accomadtion, and leave/ recess allowances to the former councillors accross the 44 local governments Whose serves from 2014 to to 2024. Among others
The council also approved a 100% upward review of the forest guards’ monthly allowance and settlement of outstanding liabilities in various sectors. Additionally, the council noted the conferment of an award of excellence on the Governor by the Kano State Branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the plan to confer the highest fellowship award on the Governor by the national body of the NMA.
The approvals demonstrate the state government’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens and promoting development in various sectors.
