2026 Hajj: Jigawa Pilgrims Clear Mandatory Medical Screening
The Jigawa State Hajj Welfare Board has announced the successful completion of mandatory medical screening for all intending pilgrims from the state ahead of the 2026 Hajj in Mecca.
The Director-General of the board, Ahmad Labbo, disclosed this while briefing journalists in his office on Saturday, stating that the exercise marked a significant milestone in preparations for the pilgrimage.
“We are happy to announce that the Jigawa State Hajj Welfare Board has successfully concluded the medical screening of its intending pilgrims in preparation for the 2026 Hajj in Mecca,” Labbo said.
According to him, a designated medical team carried out comprehensive health checks to ensure compliance with guidelines issued by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He confirmed that all screened pilgrims met the required health standards.
“The medical team did a great job, and we are pleased to confirm that all our pilgrims are healthy and fit for the Hajj,” he added.
Labbo further revealed that the board fully funded the screening exercise, stressing that no pilgrim was required to bear any medical costs.
He expressed appreciation to Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, for providing the resources needed to facilitate smooth preparations.
“We appreciate the governor’s support and commitment to ensuring our pilgrims have a smooth and successful Hajj experience,” he said.
The Director-General noted that beyond the medical screening, the board is intensifying efforts to finalize logistical arrangements ahead of the pilgrims’ departure. He urged intending pilgrims to remain spiritually and physically prepared and to strictly adhere to guidelines issued by the board.
Labbo assured that the board would continue to provide timely updates as preparations progress, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring a safe and successful 2026 Hajj exercise for all pilgrims from the state.
