Kano Pilgrims Board Announces Medical Screening, Immunization for 2026 Hajj
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced plans to commence medical screening and immunization for all intending pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this while supervising activities at the Hajj Training Centre in Gwarzo Local Government Area. He said the exercise is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Pilgrims Camp Clinic, located at the Hajj Camp in Kano.
Represented by the Director of Propagation, Education and Enlightenment, Alhaji Murtala Lawan Sani, the Director General stressed the importance of strict adherence to the Board’s guidelines to ensure a hitch-free Hajj operation.
He explained that the exercise will involve comprehensive medical screening, routine immunization, and pregnancy tests for female pilgrims, noting that the process is essential in safeguarding the health of pilgrims and ensuring compliance with international health regulations.
Alhaji Matawalle also highlighted the importance of the Hajj induction course, urging intending pilgrims to pay close attention to their instructors to properly understand the correct procedures for performing religious rites in the Holy Land.
He further advised pilgrims to strictly comply with their designated flight schedules and remain within their assigned groups based on their respective local government areas to ensure effective coordination during the pilgrimage.
As part of its monitoring efforts, the Board’s delegation also visited Gwarzo and Rimin Gado Local Government Areas to assess preparations and ensure compliance with the outlined guidelines.
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj exercise for all intending pilgrims from the state.
