NNPP Dawakin-Tofa Excos Submit Summit Resolution to Acting Chairman, Affirm Ward Excos’ Sacking of Hashimu Dungurawa
The Executive Committee of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, led by its Chairman Abdullahi Uban Iya Dawanau, has formally submitted a summit resolution affirming the sacking of Hashimu Sulaiman Dungurawa by the Gargari Ward Executive Committee.
The resolution was jointly submitted by Abdullahi Uban Iya Dawanau and the 27-member Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Excos to the Acting NNPP State Chairman, Abdullahi Zubairu Abiya, as part of efforts to address the party’s leadership crisis and restore internal order.
The resolution followed an expanded Dawakin-Tofa NNPP Excos Summit, which brought together local government executives, caucus members, and principal officers from the 11 wards in the local government area.
According to the resolution, the Dawakin-Tofa Excos unanimously affirmed and adopted the decision of the Gargari Ward Excos, where Dungurawa hails from, to sack him from the party leadership over alleged poor leadership, disregard for party discipline, and actions that allegedly fueled internal crises and divisions within the NNPP in Kano State.
The summit further noted that the ward-level decision was taken in line with the party’s grassroots authority structure and was necessary to protect unity, cohesion, and internal democracy within the NNPP.
Presenting the resolution to the acting chairman, Abdullahi Uban Iya Dawanau said the endorsement by all 27 local government excos reflected a collective position of the party in Dawakin-Tofa and a firm commitment to upholding party rules and constitutional processes.
The Dawakin-Tofa Excos also reaffirmed their confidence in Abdullahi Zubairu Abiya as Acting NNPP State Chairman, expressing optimism that his leadership would stabilise the party, rebuild trust among members, and strengthen coordination across the state.
The resolution has been officially documented and submitted to the NNPP state leadership for record purposes and further necessary action.
As at the time of filing this report, Hashimu Sulaiman Dungurawa had not issued any official response to the Dawakin-Tofa Excos Summit resolution affirming his sacking by the ward executives.
