Nigeria was thrown into a storm of tension on Thursday after a Federal High Court in Abuja declared IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu an “international terrorist,” marking one of the most dramatic terrorism judgments in the nation’s recent history.

In a verdict delivered under intense security, Justice James Omotosho cited intelligence claims that Kanu allegedly expressed intent to target the British High Commission and its former High Commissioner, Catriona Laing, describing the conduct as “terrorism with international reach.”
