Kano Commissioner Lauds Governor’s Healthcare Upgrade Efforts
Kano State Commissioner for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring, and Evaluation, Nura Iro Ma’aji Sumaila, has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s initiatives to improve the healthcare system through hospital renovations and expansions. Sumaila inspected ongoing projects in various local government areas, including Dambatta General Hospital and Fagwalawa General Hospital, and expressed satisfaction with the quality of work.
Upgrades and expansions across all 44 local government areas in Kano State.
Ongoing projects include 5-kilometer roads in Makoda and Ghari local government areas, and a road linking Yan Awaki to Unguwa Uku.
Sumaila emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines and urged contractors to accelerate work. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering impactful projects that enhance residents’ well-being .
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration is focused on improving access to healthcare and essential services through strategic infrastructural investments. The 6-Man State Projects Monitoring Committee, established in February 2025, oversees project implementation to ensure transparency and accountability .
The Kano State Government has approved over 300 projects across the state, with the Ministries of Works and Education being primary client ministries.
The government aims to enhance connectivity between Kano and neighboring states through road construction projects .
