The leadership of the 10th Senate has once again adjusted its legislative calendar, postponing the resumption of plenary from September 23 to October 7, 2025.
The development was confirmed in an internal memo signed by the Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Chinedu Akubueze, and circulated to lawmakers before being obtained by journalists.
The latest shift has sparked reactions within the National Assembly, as it effectively prolongs the Senate’s annual recess by an additional two weeks.
Although the memo did not provide an official reason for the postponement, insiders suggested the move was to enable lawmakers to fully observe the October 1 Independence Day celebrations before reconvening.
