JUST IN: I remain committed to NNPP ~ Kwankwaso
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has reaffirmed his dedication to the party, dismissing rumors about plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or join individuals forming a coalition in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He made this statement today during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party, which was attended by loyal party members.
The NNPP has been facing a leadership crisis following a faction’s convention in February, which resulted in the election of a new National Working Committee (NWC). This has led to a split between Kwankwaso’s faction, led by Ajuji, and the party’s founding members, including Boniface Aniebonam, who accuse Kwankwaso of hijacking the party.
Recently, the NNPP faction led by Agbo Major has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone elections due to a dispute over the party’s logo.
Kwankwaso stated that the party will make a decision and announce it publicly at the appropriate time.
